Product Review: Hotter Originals - Comfortable Shoes!

When I was young, I used to wear all the high heels and platform shoes. It was nice to feel tall every now and then. However, since Rheumatoid Disease struck, I've been relegated to flat, "comfortable shoes" -- and the struggle to find such shoes that are also stylish. When I had the opportunity to review Hotter Originals shoes, I jumped at the chance. Hotter is a British brand with a focus on comfort (yes!) -- and their Originals line features classic styles that go well with a variety of outfits. I chose the Jewel style in Navy since I don't have any navy colored shoes, and I thought these would be both cute and comfortable for work -- or any occasion! They are a ballet style with a subtle snakeskin sort of pattern and a bow across the front.

The shoes did ship from across the pond and we had a bit of a shipping delay, but the company was great and responsive when I contacted them, ensuring that the package delivered to me properly. My typical shoe size varies between a 7 and 7.5 (US).  I got a size 7 in these shoes and they fit just right! They are snug enough that I can wear them without socks and they don't slide off, but could still fit with think socks or hose. I think these shoes are an excellent choice for somebody looking for comfortable shoes that also look good!

Most flat shoes that I find have almost no sole to them and little, if any, padding. They are comfortable for a short time, but if you stand for too long, you realize that your feet have no support and they begin to hurt. These Hotter Originals have a flat feel but with a real sole and thick padding (actually, removable insoles!) that provides comfort and support throughout the day.  The bottom/sole of the shoe is black, which looks fine with the Navy, but I'm not sure if I'd like the contrast as much on some of the other colors.

I have a desk job, but these are the type of shoes I'd want to wear if I had a standing job (where I couldn't wear sneakers!), and are a good option if I want to be a little dressier but know I'm going to be walking around or standing a lot. The shoes look great with jeans or dress slacks. Overall, these are great shoes -- cute and comfortable -- hard to beat! I would definitely recommend them to someone with RD or anyone else who is looking for comfort and style. Happy feet make me happy!

Hotter has a wide variety of styles for both men and women. Check out their website for special savings!
